On November 8th and 9th, our school gymnasium turned into a sort of theater. Our guest was children’s and young adult book author, illustrator, and puppeteer Stefan Karch.

With the help of homemade puppets made of paper, packaging material, wood, and fabric, the author presented scenes from his books, many of which include illustrations of his own design.

Accompanied by dramatic music and a spot light, the author brought his puppets to life in fanciful recreations of scenes from his books. Everyone ahd a great time!

Stefan Karch did not only present the content of his books. He also explained how a book is produced, including everything that is necessary to turn a book from an idea to a finished product on a shelf.
